Passwords and Registration
Are of course encrypted when stored in the database. Other data such as file names or dates are not encrypted.
Files
Files are stored in a super-redundant storage system, currently Amazon's data centers, but others may be used in the future.
Checksums are verified at every step of the add and upload process to verify files are 100% correct.
You ONLY have access to the files you have added to your specific vault.
When adding a file to GetRight Vault a signature is calculated. We check the signature against files we already have stored--more than one person can purchase the same software. If we've already stored the file in the GetRight Vault storage system we can quickly copy it to your account, saving you from having to upload the file again. Checks and double checks are done so both the signature and other data could ONLY be sent by someone who has the 100% identical file. (technical details)
Backups
The data is backed up daily to multiple off-site locations.
